Christmas Fun

For the Breaktime Studios Christmas party we are having six custom beers brewed. Each artist was asked to do one label. The only rule was that the label had to include one person from the office. This is the one I threw together. We had a lot of fun making these. We will probably have even more fun drinking them. I will take pictures of all six beers once they are done.

This was the original sketch. The size of the label changed once we found out the bottles were 22 oz.

First off I want to give props to two good friends of mine who have made the leap to the West Coast, Dwayne Marley and Hasan Odom. Smart move fellas. Now for some art. These concepts were created for the iPad game Monster Mouth. Monster Mouth is the first game created by Breaktime Studios with additional work from Media Tonic. Drawing Monsters all day has been a dream come true. :)

Sorry for the lack of posts. Been real busy with work. I started a new job with Breaktime Studios. So far it has been great. We are doing some really cool stuff that I can not wait to post. A buddy (Geoff Munn) and I have decided to do a card swap. The Gremlins card was done for Geoff, the other was done for fun. I'm going to try and finish a card a week until I'm all out of blank cards (8). These cards are a nice break from the computer. Enjoy!

Next Monday I start my new job at Playfish (EA) in San Francisco. I can not wait to get started!!! There are some really talented peoples there.

So I finally got a chance to play around with ZBrush and so far I'm really enjoying it. Hopefully someday I will know the program well enough to incorporate it into my illustrations. I hope everyone is doing well. Now that I'm moved into my new place and actually have an office I will be able to post more frequently.

Wow I actually had time to work on something of my own. Lately I've been into the art of Norman Saunders. His stuff is awesome. The magazine covers he did back in the 50's and 60's crack me up. Almost all of them had a good looking woman in some sort of trouble and a tough guy trying to save her. Below is my attempt to do a cover of my own. I had alot of fun doing this and I can't wait to color it. Thanks to the people who still visit my blog even though I haven't been posting as much as I would like.

This weekend I was watching a show about the Giant Squid and it inspired me to do some characters. The squids they were catching on the show were just babies. They were so little. Very interesting creatures.

I did this Illustration after watching a show about Shark Finning on the Discovery Channel. I include the original sketch along with the first drawing of one of the shark heads. I also entered this piece into an art contest. If they like the piece it will be included in a book with other artist. I hope it makes it into the book!

I decided to put my Hope sketch aside to work on something a bit different. I figure now that I have a Cintiq I should try to do something in Photoshop. Hopefully I will get better over time. The Cintiq is amazing! It feels very natural. Thanks to everyone at Zazzle.
